What Role Books Play In My Household?
I believe that books play different role in different households. In my home everyone loves books in their own way, whether they read, look at the pictures or try to find something relevant to them. When I was growing up I noticed my mom holding a book in her hand whenever she had some free time. When asked she always had the same reply; that she is educating herself. After I grew up I understood that my mom used to read all kinds of educational books to gather information for her crossword puzzles. Even today, after all these years, she still reads. Whenever I go to visit her I bring her some crossword puzzles to solve. I think that’s one of the reasons I got my interest towards educational books. After giving a thought about what kind of books I have at home; I could categories them as following: educational books, leisure (hobby books), and how to fix.
Now that I have my own family and we have developed our own love towards books. Although, I would say that my biggest interest is educational books and all because of my mom. These are the books that give me the answers for my questions. I’m a professional travel manager and therefore I’m addicted to buy always-new travel books, magazines, and illustrations. My husband always warns me that I spend too much money for those; he even packed some of my books in a box and transferred down to the basement. He thinks that one can get all the travel information from the Internet. On the other hand, the books that we both are interested in he doesn’t mind spending money, for instant, like computers, history, and dictionaries. I think the educational books are good way to educate one, whether you just need an answer for your question or enjoy reading.
