Women In Their Workplace
Gender is a way for society to divide people into two categories: “men” and “women”. People create gender through social interactions with others. Gender isn’t biologically determined. They are culturally produced. There are also Gender inequalities due to because men and women are socialized into different roles. In this socially created division, men and women have different identities and social roles. They think and act in certain ways. Men’s roles are more valued then women’s roles, gender also serves a social status. Taking a broad view at gender inequality between men and women, we can ask the following question: do women and men have similar life options? Women aren’t the only ones who should be taking care of children by themselves. Children didn’t come out of this world alone. There is mother and father who came up the idea, with commitment and full responsibilities to raise children. Women shouldn’t be labeled the ones who give up their careers to be housewives. We should switch this job and see what happens!
Women have different roles and far more unfair jobs than men. Women are taught from early childhood to give up their dreams and careers to dedicate themselves to become housewives. Many people might make certain assumptions about women’s lives. They may assume that a number of women become typists and word processors because it is natural for women to have certain kinds of occupations. They might also assume that mothers should be responsible for taking care of children. Finally, seeing women living under poverty and taking a low position in society are as a result of her natural abilities. Families that raise several children on their modest income could switch back and forth, allowing the husband and wife both to take turns working on their careers, and taking care of children.
